Its been a good week :) Got a little bit of work done. I am going to keep taking applications for the internship position until wednesday. After that I will start having things for everyone to do. And at that point I will discuss possible payment ammounts for people.

Mac World
Mac world was kinda cool, not as big as usual - but thats ok. Last year Macromedia had a HUGE booth and this year they were just a couple of stations inside the mac booth. They had the new G5 on a rotating pedistal with a clear case on the side so you could see the pretty hardware inside. There were constantly people around it, hovering and touching - it was like geek worship..

Panic Attack
I work so hard at maintaining a clear definition of what is appropriate in my classroom and still allow students to interact with me in the hopes of creating a secure environment that is welcoming to all who seek to enter it. Do I need to be less involved with students and their lives? Is there a line somewhere that I am nudging over? I never questioned the lines I drew.. Random moments of laughter between times of intense learning that deals with frustration is what I think makes introductory computer science bearable.
Am I wrong?

Yes, its wednesday.. Going to work a shift at EMS this afternoon, have to train some newbies and you and I should go over the first couple of sections of your ambulance test as part of that. I also should try and do at least one more book review and start writing the test for the unit I wrote for AP. Tonight I am going to rework the website some more and create a better home page for the ap class. The one right now bugs me a little because it is so constraigned..
Still accepting apps for grammar ninjas and basic web stuff.. I think I will talk to a few more people online.. oo and have to call cmu..

Vampires and Extrodinary Gentlemen
Went to see LOEG last night - very good. Led to a very interesting conversation about the nature of vampires. Some of the special effects were really good - and of course they set it up for a sequal. But at times the storyline felt a little rushed. The travelling from place to place was a good literary device that they used well to create a time for dialog and charachter building, but it still seemed a little rushed and at the end you just went.. "........................"

Softball and Shifts
Softball last night wasnt too bad - played Ossining again - but we only lost by 3 and that was because the ump called the game because the wuss-es from ovac couldnt see in the twilight anymore. We so would have kicked their butts..
Ran up to FL this morning and collected paperwork. Also had breakfast with will.. :) no waiting out the last hour of this ems shift.. Wrote up most of chapter 1 for AP next year - and hashing out some bugs with the ideas that I am playing with. :) Fishies fishies right from the beginning..

I sent the gridlock link from ebaums world to a certain valdictorian last night at about 1 am and got this message (look at the time stamps):

imser*** (5:58:28 AM): i finished the game!!! :-) but as i was past the point of exhaustion im still awake...and cant sleep again...lol...but that was a fun game...im sure it would have been better if i was not soo tired during the rounds in the 30s though...lol

Of pool parties and friends
Today was a long day. Morning was good - kinda set up my to do list.. Yoga was sooo nice :) and then the day started. Family party first for a 70th birthday and then pool party at charlies...
The pool party was good - good friends - and of course a good time. Then a friend (Dougie) was playing drums in his band at the pub tonight so we had to all go. Rising Storm is the name of the band and they are really awesome. Just hung out for the evening and got home a few minutes ago. Going to go crash with a good book for a while.
