Random late night conversations

Spoke to Matt (from RIT) for a while tonight. :) Have to remember to send him a shirt.. I was going to use the one in the display case .. Matt - email me your address when you know what it will be.. I really hope that RIT does sponsor a competition next year - only because this trip is becoming kindof a staple in the year.

At one point tonight I had 8 im windows going.. its amazing I get any work done - but I did! Two powerpoints and a test later :) I love being able to multitask!

Of EMS Shifts and such

Relatively good shift today - very quiet - but couldnt get much work done - was locked out of the office for most of the day. I also am kind of annoyed at the medic. He made a comment to someone today that was not entirely appropriate (or correct) and I am going to have to speak to him about it. ::sigh:: going to have to change my personality around those who dont know me that well..

Horray - almost done with AP chapter 1.. :) grant stuff almost done too.. this is going good..

Lake

Went to the lake house today to see mom and enjoy the water a little. Thank you to the two of you for keeping me company and :ppppppp at joanne for having to go look at condos today. I understand you are in a rush to get out of living with grandma, but you missed a good day - the water was great.

Saw mom today - I miss her. She convinced me that I have to come and visit a little more often. :)

Qubes and Trigun

Ok, watched some more trigun today and I continue to echo my earlier sentiments. Also played Neverwinter Nights this morning for about an hour.. ::sigh:: now I am addicted.. and its all your fault. Had a good EMS shift - no calls.. got some work done :)

Anyway - now I want to play with the Qube (the little blue server) and found out its linux based (very nice) but I cant find the power cord.. ::pouts::.. I want to play :( should really do some more work though. Road trip tomorrow - hope it wont lightning :)

Trigun

Ok, have seen through episode 8 - hopefully more to come today.. and here is my take on is so far. I now understand why anime appeals to an older population than cartoons in the US. Although there is an ongoing current of silliness involved, there is also an undercurrent dealing with a wide variety of other themes as well. Life, death, love, promises, and the choices we make are very prevelant in Trigun and at times it almost seems like there are two writers and animators working on the series. Makes for very interesting watching, and I am looking forward to seeing what happens next.

Last night I got to watch John McEnroe play some tennis at the tennis tournament. Was kinda cool, and I earned some extra ems hours in the process. On duty now and just working on some random things, might watch some more trigun, and at some point should wash my car. ::sigh:: and of course there is work to do as well.

Beautiful day

Since the nice tan lines I aquired in greece and during my forced week off are starting to wear away I think I am going to do a bunch of reading outside today :). Its soo nice and I have some articles that I need to read.

*sympathises with those who are missing their blogs* - I miss reading them.

Talked to Dad this morning and caught up on family gossip and stuff.. It was nice - I really should be better about calling him - although I talk to him like every other week now. Much better then when I was in college ( I would call maybe once a month - normally to say I wasnt coming home for whatever holiday)

Oh well - off to yoga.. :)
