Mornings

Slept a little better last night - feeling a little more like myself today - mornings still suck though.

I think a little of the problems with my neck have worked themselves out, however I am still sore and stiff. Being very careful how fast and far I look to either side. anyway have to go back to workshop - be around later (maybe)

Of workshops

I love being here at Colgate for workshops - I get so many great ideas.. going to do some cool stuff with recursion and worked on a castle simulation with Barbara. It so sad, the simulation is almost entirely a D&D kinda deal - have to go through a castle and complete tasks to put a dragon to sleep and rescue someone.

I also have been playing with the marine biology case study while I am up here and some linked list and recursive linked list assignments. I feel bad for the people here (and Chris and Barbara too) because I came to help out but I am having some problems with my neck and have been working on no sleep and migranes so I am definately not my normal energetic self.

But I am glad I came up - I am writing down all the ideas that I normally would be doing now to take care of later when I feel better.

Long Drive

I made it up to colgate! I am going to be here until Sat. Took the time in the car to work on converting a little sunburn into more of a tan.. and NO I will not put the top up just for a little sunburn :p - the hat may have looked silly, but it kept the sun off my face and the rest of me is just a nice tan now. I think this is the best tan I have had since college..

Anyway - will be online later..

rant

I read piro's rant and I completely agree about the whole not working until the right mood strikes you. I have so much to do and cant seem to focus as well.

Lake House and minor sunburn

Went to the lake house yesterday - got official directions for everyone who is thinking about coming up the 14th - will post soon. Got just a little sunburnt - most of it is gone already. But definately feeling relaxed and ready to do some work again. I may drive up to colgate tomorrow and stay until friday (bridal shower saturday - would rather stay up at colgate though, I always learn so much and come up with great ideas when I am around Chris and Barbara.)

A friend yesterday said something that meant a lot to me. I was included in a comment as a really good friend (best friend..) by someone and it meant a lot to me.. I have always been the kind of person to have friends, but very few best friends. thank you.

3 *#&$^-ing hours to go 1KM!!!!

Coming back through customs today sucked hard core. It took 3 hours to go just one kilometer. Would have been home at a normal-ish time and could have .. I dont know.. anyway.

Good weekend was had by all. First off we drove thursday night to Montreal and stayed in a hotel there (just to break up the trip). Left the next morning to head out to Ste. Foy (which is right next to Quebec City). I found it absolutely amazing how much french I could remember from just hearing it spoken around me. By the end of the couple of days I could pritty much comprehend what people were saying. (speaking it.. now thats another matter..) :p So friday night we were supposed to meet up with the wedding party after the rehersal at the church, but just about everyone was tired and went home. So about 7 of us went out to dinner at a little place and then wandered around the boardwalk for a little bit. Very nice evening.

Next day - wedding. It rained like crazy in the morning and everyone was sooo worried that we were going to get rained on that afternoon because you had to park like two blocks from the church. But it cleared up just in time (isnt that always the way?) and the sun even came out for pictures as Dave and Vernique (bride and groom) came out of the church. Back to the hotel for a PARTY. It was kinda cool - 1/2 the wedding (and reception) was in french and the other half in english - kinda interesting being at a bilingual wedding. The DJ was absolutely hilarious!! He changed clothes almost every other song - and had the whole reception doing weird things.. I think we went through every custom for every possible ethnic group you could imagine! Got my toe stepped on and smashed in so it looks a little like yours.

Then for a long long drive home today. We sat in the line for re-entry into the US for 3 hours. UGH! Anyway - obviously I am home now.. :)
