What a day/night
First off, the picnic was awesome, thank you everybody who came - I hope you all had a good time. I am sorry it ended the way it did, but it was a good day!
Secondly - whew! what a night!! Came home, went to EMS - couldnt get dad to come and meet me to pick up you so came with me to EMS and hung out for a while. At least there was a generator there.
I got dispatched to the High School to staff the cooling center - basically the HS gym with lots of fans, some ice and an EMS and Larchmont VAC crew for the people who needed to cool off, although most of the people there were there because they were stranded when the trains stopped running. We had an elderly couple that required a lot of care - woman in a wheel chair on O2 that because of the heat required regular albuteral treatments, also a few asmatics, etc. no sleep for me..
Around 3:30 - just when I had fallen asleep - train wreck. Got to go help out on that - thank goodness the train wasnt full.
finally made it home around 7.. ugh.. slept until now..

Dinners and Random Events
Today (programming camp) went well.. I think that we got a good start on some stuff for the year.
Went into the city and had dinner w/ siblings - went rather well, kinda funny how you are more like me than the other one. Fun evening - need to make plans to hang out with family more..

place: Rye Playland : they have picnic tables and grills
note: please try and car pool - parking is $5, and although there is a beach it costs another 3-ish.. figured this way people could swim if they want to.
If you havnt already been assigned something to bring - talk to me.. and if you werent planning on coming, but now are.. talk to me..
need to food shop.

What actually got done this afternoon:
translated 1/2 of an old c++ question to java.. :p and programming camp is tomorrow.. oh well - I know what I am teaching anyway.
Did read a few more chapters of Machine though.. :)

Feeling slightly better than this morning.. But burying in work as usual.
Schedule to do tomorrow afternoon:
Finish grant pages and burn cd
Outline first day of programming camp
Translate at least one old C++ AP part II question to java
Read another chapter of Soul of a New Machine (maybe finish it)
Then to pick you up - cant wait! This is going to be so much fun.

no title
its been a really long week. For those of you who read between the lines maybe you have figured out that I have not been the happiest person lately. My neck is still bothering me and all signs point to it being stress related. I was going to go to yoga this morning, not so sure anymore.
Went to have lunch with a good friend yesterday. I havent seen her since winter. Her daughter is getting so big. She has moved in with her boyfriend who treats her, and her daughter like gold. I am soo happy that she is finding happiness in her life, she deserves it so much. ::hugs:: if she reads this.
Called mom this morning - I reminded her about the lake house on thurs. - I dont think she remembered. Lets be extra careful while we are there people to not impose at ALL. This family - although I call them mom and dad.. and did live with them for a few summers are not REALLY mom and dad. maybe I shouldnt have this at lake house and just barbeque somewhere else.. hm.. will decide by tomorrow.
But I called her to talk, and she really didnt want to.. so now I feel .. I dont know..hopefully this afternoon will be good and kill some of the stress that Rich has been feeling. I get worried sometimes when I feel like this that parts of my real mom's personality are coming out. I hope not.
