Various

First of all I am glad you had a good day at crew.. :)

Secondly, I saw someone last night who hasnt really talked to me since last fall and the comment that was made was that I looked "tired". That bugged me. Do I really look that bad? Note to all the guys out there - NEVER EVER tell a woman she looks tired as a general description EVER! Bleh, and bleh again!! ::sigh:: now I feel like .. I dont know how to describe it.. all the girls out there who read this will understand.

I have a wedding to go to this weekend, some friends from the fire house - should be very interesting. That reminds me - note to self: make sure your dress is non wrinkled!! Also going to EMS tonight - have to add up my hours from the month and make sure I hit 24.. trying to be good about that.

Anyway - this is interesting - would love to go visit cornell and go through some of this research. math nerd that I am.. :p

Form and Function

Thank you to will who sent me some good reading last night before I went to bed. Aristotles function argument Along with a pdf on Niomachean Ethics. Very cool stuff. I find that thought provoking reading like that helps clear out whatever other stuff was floating around my brain and I can sleep better.

I do however eventually have to write about what I read (note to all: its better to read something like this a few hours before you have to write about it - gives your subconcious a much better handle on the materials and allows it to congeal better rather than rushing through the thought process while you are trying to write).

Aristotle is one of the ultimate optimists when it comes to the human race and its intentions. He really does believe that all humans are basically good, and in our search for happiness we are motivated by factors that involve more than just our internal struggles. I agree with him about a lot of what he writes and it reminds me of an optimistic spirit within the human race.

The one primary disagreement I have with Aristotle is about what he says is the ultimate good. Aristotle believes that political science is the ultimate good since you are working for the betterment of mankind by governing. I think in this way Aristotle does show his naivite (yes grammar ninjas I cant spell) about the human spirit. There are many people who work in political science, and while their original intentions might have been worthy, many of the struggles they go through to achieve their ultimate goal often leads them to forget or put aside their original intentions.

I also believe that education is the ultimate good - and could argue that, but this is already getting REALLY long. IM me if you want that argument..

Bookstore

I really need to go to a bookstore.. this is why!

Although picking up a new book that would encompass me for a while might actually be a bad thing - still trying to get ahead a little for work. Maybe I will stay an extra hour tonight.. :p

grading

I soo need to grade math tests tonight .. bleh..

Today was a good day - Jay wrote some awesome code for a program for the smart board, APCS really seemed to start to gear up and get it together in terms of coding (its all starting to come back to you guys, I know)..

feh @ NYU still no students in class, and when I went to the forums they were unavailable - will try later tonight...

The distance learners, who will probably find this eventually I hope are going to start to gear up. :note to self - zip up program files to send to them!!: I also need to rewrite elevator so its swing and not objectdraw.. bleh..

Anyway - heading home.. :)

EMS

Had an EMS board meeting last night (yes in addition to being the treasurer I am also on the board of directors). We are having trouble getting people to drive for us during the day. I proposed that we take advantage of the variety of firemen who either work odd hours (for paid fire jobs) or are just generally around during the day to drive.

Also, I need to get used to my new alarm clock a little more. This morning when I leaned over to hit the snooze button I must have hit the off button by mistake, they are very close to each other. Thank goodness Rich woke me @ 6:30 otherwise I would probably still be asleep.

anyway - off to wednesday!!!! :)

not late today

Horray for not running late today. I actually got up on time and made it to school around 7. Very nice to just putter in the morning rather than having to run around. Made for a good day. I think that I am starting to get used to the whole higher energy for school thing. I think I am starting to get back into my routine now and thats a good thing. I just need to get back ahead. I am running about even with the classes in terms of what I am prepared for and I would rather be a few days (perhaps even a week) ahead.

Off to grade math tests. :p

Endorphines are a good thing

4 miles today after an hour of yoga _whew_

I feel much more like myself than I have in a while. I think it helps that the cold is gone and I am sleeping better again. I need to work on getting up earlier in the morning. Been coming in 20 minutes later than usual, and while thats still early I feel like I am rushing all morning.

I think that will help a little and I need to spend some time one day just getting myself ahead in AP and Math 4. I am kinda running even with the class and that always makes me feel behind. Oh well.. work work.. so I can sleep sleep.. :)

Days

Thank you to all who helped out at the carnival today, even though I know it was quiet..

Friday was my sister's birthday (happy bday lynday!) and various family members came for dinner. We barbequed (well actually rich barbequed) some very amazing food and just had a nice day. I ended up doing some work (yes AP homework is posted) and crashing for a few hours.. now I am just doing a little more work and then going to crash again.
