The world is my pork chop
Ok, so I admit I do enjoy laughing at the oddities that I observe that the rest of the world appears to wander by completely unawares, but am I really that random? Last night in the process of wandering through times square I turned to Matt and said "the world is my pork chop". He just laughed and shrugged it off to my random nature. Now I am sorry, but I didnt think I was that random, I was actually reading off the very large pork the other white meat billboard that was right there..
Last night was fun.. got to randomly wander the city which I havent done in a while. Lynda was supposed to meet me when I got into the city to pick up her laptop from me, but ended up going out with some friends so I lugged it around w/ me for a few hours before meeting up with her later. she owes me dinner at some point for that! (but now at least you can stop buggin me about fixing her laptop..)
Anyway some things from last night.. "All for the low price of..", "If he is the dali llama-I know he is supposed to be a spiritual leader and all but why does he have a $3 pair of kmart flip flops?" (this in reference to a very large poster where the flip flops were about a story high - although I think it would be very interesting to go hear him speak .. he is giving a talk in central park on the 21st..) and "I travel the subway by newton's method of approximation".
We walked down to the WTC site (Matt had never been, and I hadnt gone since the incident). It was a moving experience, especially considering it was 9/11 yesterday. There were flowers and candles lit all over and it made me remember some things from when I was very young. my prayers go out to all the families who lost, and especially the brave women who said goodbye to their husbands, fathers, or significant others that morning as they went to work in the firehouses. may the lights that they shined into the heavens last night remind you all that we still love you.
wow, that was a long rant.. off to the rest of my busy day/weekend !

Morning and sleep
ok, within the last 48 hours I have managed to sleep for 20 of it. not a bad ratio and the cold is starting to depart under my relentless battle for sanity..
so.. here I am at 7:30 in the morning.. cup of hot chocolate (oo soothing to sore throat and I hate coffee) with papers to grade, classes to teach, and a couple of busy days to survive. Today is first policy board meeting for the SDC, and then I have to run home, fold some remaining laundry and head down to city to bring laptop to sister and shirt to Matt(RIT guy). Then home and tomorrow is Friday - normal robotics club meeting after school, then home to clean and guests for dinner, then overnight at EMS..
Eventually on to sat. where I am going to watch some volleyball @ NYU and then to spend the evening with you. wow.. sleeping sunday I hope.

feeling a little better
for everyone who saw me and asked this morning - yes I am feeling better. nyquil is my friend. I probably will ammend this by the end of the day though. Definately going home tonight to clean and sleep. (guests for dinner on friday)

bleh
I got no sleep last night. and i do not mean the random no sleep where you just kinda wake up every now and again, but seriously the no sleep where you just dont sleep.. you roll over look at the clock and its 10 minutes (maybe) past the last time you looked. every little noise only serves to keep you awake more and NO SLEEP.. ::sigh:: today is going to be a long day.
EMS meeting tonight is going to be even longer.. did you get me a proxy????
bleh and bleh and bleh.. going to be not quite awake today.. Might have to resort to a spark.

Randomness
ok, first of all you cannot complain about just an hour of homework. I have at least that many papers to grade each night. although yikes on the wasps..
secondly.. I love the quotes of the sheep!! see here and here.
For all of you who know of my distain for the FL educational system.. this just explains it all.

Sleep/Weekending
Had the EMS picnic today, came home, napped and went to visit a friends new house. They had a housewarming party and had the best idea. Instead of random household gifts (like people normally give) they asked everyone to bring a plant. The indoor ones obviously are going to be placed around the house, while they are going to use the outdoor ones in their back yard around the patio.. Great idea!
I started reading Snow Crash, I am going to fly through this book. Its awesome! Anyway, off to bed I think before I cant keep my eyes open any more..
